Parenting is always kind of a struggle. Sure it's rewarding (some of the time), but most of the time we're just in survival mode. Add the modern-day issues of screen time and social media, and well, parenting can almost seem impossible. This course is designed to help lighten the load by sharing strategies and tips to help kids (and families) navigate screen time and social media.
Your Instructor
Ben Belnap received his Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah. He worked as a school psychologist before transitioning to clinical work in private practice and the child/adolescent residential and day treatment programs at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ben made his mark in the education and mental health communities through his dynamic presentations and innovative methods of translating complex mental health concepts and evidence-based practices into simple and understandable, and practical terms. Ben has presented in a variety of settings: national education and mental health conferences, state and local conferences, and individual school districts and mental health facilities.
With his extensive experience in mental health, Ben develops and enriches Totem PD trainings through the application of relational, attachment, and cognitively based modalities. Ben continues to practice privately as a therapist, PBIS consultant for school teams, and through conducting psychological and neuropsychological evaluations.
Ben loves hiking in search of hidden swimming holes and rowing his raft through the deep canyons of Southern Utah. He enjoys his adventures most when he can share them with his wife and four kids.
